How to Choose the Proper Size and Shape for Your Breast Implant

When you have decided to get a boob job, you will have to decide on some important stuff to continue with the process. Basically the most important things to decide are the material breast augmentation that you want to use, also the shape and size of the breast implants.

Everyone has different needs and expectations, also different reasons why they need a breast enhancement. All these will determine whether you need a breast enlargement or simply a breast lift, what kind of shape you want and how big you want your breasts to be.

But simply picking based on your opinion of a perfect breast sometimes could lead into a disappointment. So you should also consider several important factors that will affect your look and how you feel about the “new breasts”.

Before and After Pictures

One of the easiest way to choose the perfect size and shape for your breast implants is by looking for breast implants before and after pictures of women that have similar body figures as yours. That way you don’t have to imagine what you would look like to have a “B”, “C”, or “D” cup breasts.

Try Different Sizes

During your consultation session with the surgeon, try different sizes of breast implants to see which of them will fit your body nicely. Ask your surgeon to give you implant samples of different sizes and try them on to know how they feel.

Rice Test

Breast implants are not measured by the bra size, but they are measured by the volume of the implant in cubic centimeters. What most women often don’t realize is that the implants will add some weight to their body. To simulate this added weight, you can take a rice test. You can put rice in zip lock bags until they have the same weight as the implants you want to use. Then just put them in your bra so you can feel the weight. Make sure you are comfortable with whatever size you choose.

Choosing Shape

Once you have found the perfect size, now it’s time for you to decide on the shape. There are basically two options for breast implant shape; round and teardrop. A round implant has a circular shape, it looks like a symmetrical half circle. While a teardrop implant has a more natural look with curves like a teardrop.

You need to know the amount of breast tissue you have before deciding on the shape of your breast implant, because it has a lot to do with that. In case you have more than 2 cm of breast tissue, then you can choose the round implant. That is because your naturally thick breast tissue will still give a natural shape to your breast. On the other hand, if your breast tissue is under 2 cm, then it’s recommended for you to choose the teardrop shape.

Also remember that all these options will also affect your breast augmentation cost. So make sure you shop around and compare prices before you go to a plastic surgeon to have your breast implants.
